The small ensembles of The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus and The Denver Women’s Chorus are thrilled to present their first joint concert, “Just Between Us Friends: An Evening of A Cappella at The Fox” at the Aurora Fox Arts Center in Aurora, Colorado. The ensembles from the Denver Women’s Chorus and Denver Gay Men’s Chorus are emissaries into the community and perform across the front range to build community through music on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Arts Association and their choruses. This will be their first concert to the general public. Songs include music from Jason Mraz, The Beatles, Billy Joel, Pentatonix, Vicente Chavarria, P!nk, Aretha Franklin, The Police, Kacey Musgraves, and even from the musical Dear Evan Hansen. There will also be a special commission piece called “At the Parade”, with text written by DGMC’s own Alex DeFazio and scored by composer Nathan Hall as well as “Until All of Us Are Free” by Mark Burrows, with text by by poet Emma Lazarus.
